Comments: Alger Vineyards was established in the early 1970s, and is located at approximately 2,500 feet on the western watershed of Mt. Lassen, in Northern California. The altitude of the vineyard provides ideal, cool nights during the summer growing season. Our vines are planted in well-drained, volcanic soils, on arid slopes. As a result, the grapes have a great tannic structure with firm-fruit acidity. At Alger Vineyards, our emphasis is to work with small lots of high quality grapes. We strive for a distinctive mountain character with focused flavors. We farm using organic methods, knowing that this not only brings the best quality to our grapes, but also to our environment. Our own Alger wines are produced only from our estate vineyards. Come visit our tasting room on our vineyard property in Northern California, located at 31636 Forward Road, Manton, California. Our tasting room is open every Saturday and Sunday, between 12:00-5:00 p.m. Varietals grown are the following: Petite Sirah and Syrah, which are also being produced as Alger Vineyards and Winery wines, at this time. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Zinfandel, Merlot, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Orange Muscat
